Jays aggression at the plate supported by Halladay's skills win this one.

Toronto v LA Angels. Game one of three.

Here comes the speedsters. Keep Figgins off base tonight Roy .

Lineups: Angels: Figgins, Abreu, Guerrero, Hunter, Morales, Izturis, Napoli, Mathews jr, Kendrick and Saunders pitching.
Toronto: Scutaro, Hill, Rios, Wells, Lind, Rolen, Millar, Barajas, Bautista, and Halladay pitching on extra day of rest.
Jays win this one 6-4.

The good: struck out a career-high 14 to win his major league-leading ninth game, second complete game this season but 133 pitches. I hope he does not suffer next start. Rios home run and three run sixth inning for Jays. Season first stolen base for Lind.
The bad: Vernon 0-4 tonight but not alone with Scutaro and Hill also hitless. Scutaro ending his streak of seven straight multi-hit games. Jesse Litsch still bothered by sore arm but no structural damage, according to the MRI.

Top 1st: Figgins singles to left. Not good start Halladay does not want Figgins on base. Abreu at bat, there goes Figgins first pitch, great throw by Barajas gets Figgins at second.. Abreu grounds to Millar. Guerrero grounds to Millar flip to Halladay. Quick inning for Halladay.
Bottom 1st: Blue Jays first. Scutaro fly ball to ied out to right fielder Abreu. Hill fouled out to first baseman Morales. Rios grounded out, shortstop Izturis to first baseman Morales.

Top 2nd: Hunter strikes out. Morales strikes out. Izturis grounds to Scutaro throw to Millar.
Bottom 2nd: Wells grounds back to Saunders flip to first base Morales. Lind fly ball to left Matthews Jr. Rolen strikes out.

Top 3rd: Napoli grounds back to Halladay throw to Millar one down. Matthews Jr strikes out. Kendrick grounds out to Millar unassisted.
Bottom 3rd: Millar grounds to second base Kendrick throw to first base Morales. Barajas singles to centre. Bautista, here we go, triples to centre, Barajas scores 1-0 Jays.
Scutaro grounds to short, Izturis throw to first base Morales. Hill grounds out to second base Kendrick throw to Morales at first base.

Top 4th: Figgins strikes out. Abreu strikes out. Guerrero fly ball to Wells.
Bottom 4th: Rios leading off, gets hold of this one, Home run into left field stands. 2-0 Jays.
Wells grounds to Morales unassisted. Lind grounds to, second base Kendrick to first base Morales. Rolen doubles to centre Millar singles to left, Rolen scores. 3-0 Jays. Barajas pops up to second base Kendrick.

Top 5th: Hunter strikes out. Morales lines out to Bautista two down. Izturis singles to right. Napoli strikes out.
Bottom 5th: Bautista strikes out. Scutaro grounds to third base Figgins throw to first base Morales. Drops the throw and Hill safe on Morales' error. Rios strikes out.

Top 6th: Matthews Jr strikes out. Kendrick singles to centre. Figgins lines to Bautista in left, throw to Millar, Kendrick out, double play ball.
Bottom 6th: Wells strikes out. Lind singles to centre. There goes Adam, Lind steals second. Rolen singles to left, Lind to third. Mathews misplays the ball, error on Mathews, Lind scores,4-0 Jays. Rolen to second. Millar doubles to left, Rolen scores. 5-0 Jays. Another wild pitch, Millar to third. Barajas singles to left Millar scores 6-0 Jays. Thompson now pitching. Bautista full count and walks. Barajas to second. Scutaro fly ball to right field Abreu. Hill strikes out.

Top 7th: Abreu singles to left. Guerrero singles to right, Abreu to second. Hunter 3-0 and walks on four pitches, Abreu to third, Guerrero to second. Bases loaded and no outs, Halladay in trouble for first time this game. Must have been that long rest whilst Jays scored three. Funny how these things affect pitchers rhythm. Morales singles to right. Abereu scores 6-1 Toronto. Guerrero at third and Hunter at second bases still loaded with no outs. Wild pitch gets away form Barajas Guerrero scores 6-2 Toronto. Come on Roy…. Hunter at third, Morales at second. Izturis, sacrifice fly to Rios, Hunter scores 6-3 Toronto. Morales at third but one down. Napoli sacrifice fly to Wells, Morales scores 6-4 Toronto. Mathews jr strikes out. Not a pretty inning for Halladay and could cost him a complete game with that increased pitch count.
Bottom 7th: Rios fly ball to left field Matthews Jr. Wells pops up to short Izturis. Lind fly ball to Hunter in centre field.

Top 8th: Kendrick strikes out. Figgins grounds to Scutaro throw to Millar two down. Abreu strikes out.
Bottom 8th: Bulger now pitching. Rolen fly ball to right field Abreu. Millar grounds to Figgins at third base throw to first base Morales. Two down. Barajas strikes out.

Top 9th: Halladay still in there he wants this one. Overbay in at first base for Millar. Guerrero strikes out one down. Hunter strikes out. Morales singles to left. One on two down. Defensive indifference, Morales to second. Izturis strikes out. Halladay strikes out the side and 133 pitches for the game.
Saunders, who has lost three of his past four starts, allowed six runs and nine hits in 5 1-3 innings. He walked none and struck out four. Also gave up a stolen base to Lind.
