Good news from Dunedin

The two pieces of good news this morning from Dunedin are regarding Hechavarria and McGowan.

GM Alex had hinted at this on Saturday when he said he had been speaking with an agent about a Cuban signing. If Jays can land Hechavarria this would be a huge hole filled in the infield.
As an aside current SS Alex Gonzalez made a play yesterday reminiscent of Tony Fernandez when he flipped a high slow toss to first to get the runner - just..

But there is a big difference between a great play and hot dogging. Alex had plenty of time to plant his feet and make a much stronger throw at least from my vantage point. Johnny Mac would have made that play a little differently. Perhaps a moot point if Jays can land Hechavarria.
Business note, I would imagine that the extra $ on Hechavarria will be made up quickly with huge interest in Toronto and extra seats filled this season.

Good news 2 McGowan had another good outing on the side and pitch count is rising. He would be a huge bonus for the rotation if he can come back.
