Almost that time....
First game on Wednesday but my first game will be Friday the 5th.
Local (spring training) derby, Jays v Phillies, perhaps Halladay in his first game for Phillies.
Lots of new talent to watch this month as they fight for places. Should be very interesting and made even better without having to watch Rios go through the motions in right field. Does Travis stand a chance to get that spot ? How is his psyche this season after 2009? Can Hill and Lind repeat last season's phenomenal run? Will Vernon finally get back on track? Lyle says he is comfortable and injury free. Leadoff is my concern, can Bautista match Scutaro? or will someone else emerge in March?
Pitching should be the most interesting with the rotation wide open. Will we have a new closer ? Will McGowan, Marcum or Litsch be in the mix?
Will Buck be the main guy catching ? and will the fans give Cito an easy time as he starts his move upstairs. Will his "open door" announcement translate into confidence from the players or will he retreat back to the dugout corner, arms folded and tuned out? Will he bring in a running game? I don't think his leash will be long with his next move already announced.
Jays already written off this season but don't believe it, this is baseball and anything can and usually does happen especially with young players determined to prove something.
