Hill and more Hill as Jays win in extra inings.

Toronto v Baltimore. Second game of series.

Lineups: Baltimore: Roberts, Jones, Markakis, Huff, Mora, Scott, Montanez, Zaun, Izturis and Bergeson pitching.
Toronto: Scutaro, Hill, Rios, Wells, Lind, Bautista, Overbay, Chavez, Snider and Ray pitching.
Rookie Jays pitcher Ray. making his major league debut. A 25-year-old right-hander, made one start for Triple-A Vegas on April 26 and pitched 4.1 scoreless innings. He split his 2008 between High-A and Double-A. Jays are really stretching this option, it could backfire bigtime.

The very good: Hill, and more Hill. Home run in the 10th to tie it up and single in the 11th to win it. Can’t do much more than that.

The good: Ray Achieved more than expected a great major league debut. Snider in left did a great job, hustling all the way, Alex take note.

The goats today: Snider and Scutaro. The mental part of the game.

The bad: Three more double plays by Jays today, they really have a problem here they have to address somehow.
Jays win this 5-4 in extra innings.

Top 1st: Roberts pops up to Scutaro. Jones gets hold of this one and HR into left field. 1-0 Baltimore. Markakis 3-0 and walks. Huff pops up to Bautista. Mora two down grounds to Overbay flip to Ray to escape any more damage.
Bottom 1st: Bergeson pitching. Scutaro grounds to short Izturis throw to first Huff. Hill grounds to third Mora throw to Huff. Rios same play, grounds to Mora on to Huff. Jays hitters have to give more support than that to Ray today to have a chance.

Top 2nd: Scott lines out to Snider in left field today. Montanez grounds to Scutaro throw to Overbay for second out. Zaun fly ball to Snider. Good inning for Ray.
Bottom 2nd: Wells doubles to center, goes to third on error by Markakis. Lind at bat, surely he can bring him in. Grounds to Roberts, they wil conced the run and throw to Huff to get the first out. 1-1 game. Bautista singles to right. Overbay 3-0 and walks on four pitches, Bautista to second. Chavez in for Barajas today. Singles to right. Bautista scores 2-1 Jays. Overbay to second. Snider grounds to Roberts throw to Izturis covering second, Overbay to third, Snider to first, Chavez out. Scutaro now, singles to left, Overbay scores 3-1 Jays.Snider to second. Hill grounds to Izturis, throw to Huff for third out but Jays have given Ray some breathing room at least.

Top 3rd: Izturis fly ball to Snider. One down. Roberts full count and walks. Jones singles to left, Roberts to second trying to stretch it but great throw by Snider to get him at third, Jones gets to second. Markakis walks. Two on two down. Huff doubles to centre, both runners score Orioles have tied this one up 3-3. Mora grounds to Scutaro throw to Overbay for third out.
Bottom 3rd: Rios singles to centre. Alex seems to be most comfortable when nothing at stake and no pressure. Wells singles to left, Rios to second. Vernon 2-2 today. Lind grounds to Huff throws to Izturis at second and back to Huff, double play ball. Rios moves to third but two out. Bautista 3-0 and walks. Overbay strikes out.

Top 4th: Scott grounds to first Overbay flip to Ray for the out. Montanez doubles to right. Zaun hit by pitch, two on for Izturis, fly ball to Snider. Roberts fly ball to Snider. Ray gets out of that jam. Looking unruffled out there.
Bottom 4th: Chavez grounds to Roberts throw to Huff. Snider fly ball to Jones. Scutaro grounds back to Bergesen throw to Huff. Busy guy today.

Top 5th: Jones fly ball to Wells. Markakis strikes out. Huff strikes out. Very nice inning by Ray. This is much better than I expected.
Bottom 5th: Hill fly ball to Jones. Rios fly ball to Markakis. Wells grounds back to Bergesen throw to Huff. I think Ray would prefer a little more help than this.

Top 6th: Mora bunting, Chavez to Overbay for first out. Scott grounds to Scutaro throw to Overbay. Montanez full count and walks. Here comes Cito, that’s it for Ray. 90- pitches and has done well he should get another chance and every rotation brings closer the return of Litsch, Romero and Marcum. Nice hand from the crowd and deservedly so. Carlson pitching. Zaun pops up to Hill.
Bottom 6th: Lind full count and walks. Bautista fly ball to Jones. Overbay grounds to Izturis on to Huff double play ball.

Top 7th: Izturis singles to centre. Izturis stealing and safe at second. Roberts fly ball out to Rios.
Passed ball by Chavez Izturis moves to third. Only one down. Jones fly ball to Wells. Markakis fly ball out to Snider.
Bottom 7th: Baez pitching. Chavez grounds to Huff flip to Baez. One down. Snider grounds to Roberts throw to Huff. Scutaro pops up to Roberts.

Top 8th: - Huff fly ball to Wells. That’s it for Carlson, did his job of holding Orioles. League pitching. Mora singles to centre. Scott strikes out. Mora stealing and safe at second. Montanez grounds to Bautista throw to Overbay for third out.
Bottom 8th: Hill strikes out. Rios grounds to short, Rios beats out long throw. When he thinks about it Alex can run. Second hit today. Wells with one on, double and single today, would love a double here. Grounds to third, Mora’s just beats Vernon. Alex at second, two down for Lind. Putting him on. Intentional walk, that second run is the key one anyway. Bautista two down and two on. 3-1 count, full count, Alex will be running. Ball four and loads the bases for Overbay ? That’s it for Baez. Jamie Walker to pitch to Millar. Full count. Tension. High and foul. Try again. fouls it back. Fly ball to right.

Top 9th: League facing Zaun. Strikes out, one down. Izturis singles into centre. Roberts one on one down. Gets the ground ball to Hill but no chance for two gets Roberts at first. Two down. Jones at bat, yes. strike three, very nice inside corner, great pitch gets Jones looking. Down to the wire here.
Bottom 9th: Chavez bunting, great bunt, Johnny Mc. pinch running. Snider first pitch, grounds to second, throw to second on to first double play ball. What’s your problem Travis? This is bottom of ninth with one on, put some pressure on pitcher take a couple at least. Been watching too much of Rios and Wells. That was bad, very bad at bat. Scutaro now with two down. Drives it into left, Montanez great diving catch but lands awkwardly on his right hand. Extra innings, but no thanks to Snider, rookie error I hope. We don’t want him imitating Alex and Vernon.

Top 10th: Downs now pitching. Barajas in for Chavez. Markakis, grounds to Hill, fumbles and throw too late, error on play. Huff with one on, singles to right both runners safe for Mora is he bunting? Yes, but fouls off first one. Swings at this one. 0-2. Fly ball to Rios, Roberts tags and at third with one down. Wigginton pinch hitting. A good fly ball swing will bring run in. Grounds to Scutaro, coming home instead of going for double play. Run scores and no out, that was another bad choice. 4-3 Baltimore. Montanez, with two on. Strikes out, two down. Zaun, strikes out but two bad judgement calls by Snider and now Scutaro have put Jays in a hole here.
Bottom 10th: Sherill four of five saves this season. Hill leading off. Yes Aaron, tags this one into left field seats, and ties this up 4-4. Aaron more than makes up for his error. Rios now, strikes out. Wells first pitch fly ball to left field. Two down. Lind hitless today. Singles into centre. One on two down for Bautista walks. Two on for Millar. A single will do here Kevin. Fly ball to left to end that rally.

Top 11th: Frasor now pitching. Izturis at bat. 2-4 today. Pops up to Barajas one down for top of the order. Roberts, fly ball to centre and Vernon makes it look so easy. Makes up for his at bat in tenth. Two down for Jones. Singles up the middle. One on two down for Markakis. Jones stealing and Barajas bounces the throw, not in time. Fly ball out to Snider in left.
Bottom 11th: Bass now pitching. Barajas at bat, singles to right. Snider now second chance to redeem himself for that ninth inning double play. Hitless today. That was even worse, bunting !!!!!! and pops it up to Bass. 0-5. I am changing my mind about this kid. He has a long way to go. Scutaro bunts and thrown out at first. Barajas at second. Not sure what Scutaro was planning there, two outs given up. Hill at least, singles into shallow centre and here comes Barajas and scores as throw by Jones is up the third line. JAYS WIN THIS ONE 5-4. Hill MVP.
