Winless in Florida

Jays continue their spring with away game in Lakeland and Detroit for third time in a week but the same result as Tigers continue spring domination of the Jays.

Lots of action in the first inning. Davis starting in right field today, doubles, more speed there than yesterday with Rivera. Patterson bunts him over and Lawrie brings him in. Nice textbook. Manager Farrell will like that start.
Lawrie steals second, his first of the spring. Small ball by Manager Farrell.
Jays turn two double plays. Great day for Lawrie. Two hits. More power from Eric Thames, first Jays home run of the spring... and he had a great triple yesterday with surprising speed for the big guy.
Romero falls apart in the 4th. Two walks. Zach Stewart replaces him. Cabrera double off Stewart scores three runs.
Encarnacion starting at third. Hitless. Arencibia getting his at bats today as DH but still not much luck. Thames two hits today.
Jays lose their fourth, and third to Detroit in a week. Tigers remain unbeaten.
Jays 1/6 with runners in scoring position, and leave six out there.
The good: At least the error rate dropped today. Purcey another scoreless inning of work.
Small ball by the Manager.
The very good: Thames power.

Over at Bright House this afternoon. Phillies playing Tigers split squad. Lee a little wild to start with hbp and then wild pitch and base hit to get Tigers on the board 2-0 in the first.
Eddie Bonine replacing Lee in the 5th gives up three more and game over. Josh Barfield gets one back in the 3rd and Ben Francisco the other in the 6th and that is it for the Phillies today losing 6-2 despite only hitting 3 for 11 with runners in scoring position.
Tigers win two in one afternoon. Jays have two more with them this spring. Ouch.
