Jays hammer Cleveland with 13 run 17 hit attack.

Toronto v Cleveland.

Lineups: Toronto: Scutaro, Hill, Rios, Wells, Lind, Rolen, Millar (in for Overbay), Bautista, Barrett and Richmond pitching.
Cleveland: Sizemore, DeRosa, Martinez, Hafner, Peralta, Choo, Garko. Francisco, Cabrera, and Lewis pitching.

Season opener for the Indians having been swept in three in Texas. This one had everything including 3hr 47 minute rain delay but Jays win this one big 13-7 with well balanced attack.

The VERY good: Lind again, two run HR, two doubles and a 3-5 four rbi night after last night’s 3-4 game. This guy is red-hot.
The good: Top seven guys in the lineup have at least two hits tonight. Lind and Rolen have three each. Scutaro HR, and great defensive play in the 6th. Millar, Rios ! yes Alex, a four rbi night at last and Vernon chips in as well with two hit night.
The bad: not today friends.

Bottom of 1st : Cleveland get two off Richmond. 2-0
Top 3rd: Millar first at bat this season, lead off doubles into CF, Bautista in LF today, pops up. Barrett. Grounds to 2B. Millar to third. Scutaro now can he bring him in? walks. Hill with two on and two down. pops up.
Bottom 3rd. HR Martinez into RF corner. 3-0 Indians.

Top 4th Rios. Pop up 2-19 . Wells. finally a base hit… into LF. Lind YES into LF corner… 3-2 Indians. Third HR this week and number 9 rbis. Rolen with one out. doubles into LF corner. Millar at bat with one out and Rolen at 2nd. Keep it going Kevin. Good boy singles into the rf corner, Rolen scores but Kevin is dead meat at 2b trying to stretch it. 3-3 though he will take the rbi. Bautista 80 pitches now for Lewis that was an expensive inning. He may only go five. Not too good as the bullpen was hammered yesterday in the 12-8 loss, four bullpen pitchers used.
Bottom 4th: Back to square one for Richmond. Walks the leadoff terrible.

Top 5th. Scutaro YES Marco… another HR same spot as Lind in the LF corner. Everyone turning on Lewis into the LF corner. 4-3 Jays ahead for first time in the game. Hill singles, yes into LF corner. Rios now, and a perfect time to break his drought. No that’s it for Lewis 94 pitches, here comes Betancourt. No Rain delay friends. With Jays ahead 4-3.
3hr 47 minutes rain delay. Not many fans left here now… a couple of thousand ? Too bad on their opening day now night.
Rios and Wells out to end the inning. Rios and Wells one hit between them in six at bats today to add to their 0-16 last two games. 1-22 is not what any team wants from numbers three and four.

Bottom 5th: Tallet now pitching. De Rosa strikes out. Martinez strikes out Hafner strikes out. Great inning for Tallet.

Top 6th: Lind at bat. Doubles off the CF wall almost another HR. 2-3 tonight. Rolen singles into centre field Lind is held at 3rd Smart call as throw is right on the money and still no outs. Millar 2-2 tonight bounces one to third base, double play but Lind scores. 5-3 Jays and another rbi for Millar. Bautista pops it up.

Btm 6th: Tallet still out there. Peralta grounds it to third Scutaro sensational play to throw Peralta out at first. Off balance and on the grass behind third. Highlight reel play. Choo at bat, gets hold of this one this one has gone. RF HR. 5-4Garko at bat, Walks him. Francisco with one on and one out strikes out. Cabrera grounds out to Scutaro.

Top 7th: Barrett at bat, Joe Smith now pitching. grounds to SS. Scutaro infield hit to SS and beats out the throw, error on the play. Hill at bat, doubles into LF corner, Scutaro holds at third. Rios now. can he finally do something ? Finally… Drives it up the middle to score two. His first ! rbi of the season. 7-4 Jays. Wells now. Can he do something ? Yes he does ! singles into left. Rios at second. That’s it for Smith. Jays now have 12 hits and getting into that bullpen which was already beaten up from the Texas series. Rafael Perez pitching two on one out for Lind 2-3 tonight and two rbis, chance to create some damage here. Great chance for double steal Cito. Dream on. Lind grounds out double play.

Bottom 7th: Tallet still out there. 34 pitches so far in his two innings. Sizemore walks , DeRosa strikes out. Number five for Tallet. Martinez oh dear…. This is out of here left centre. Two runs score. 7-6 Jays. Hafner at bat, one pitch and that’s it for Tallet. Carlson to face Hafner. Jesse pitched yesterday. Ciito is pushing it here, probably hopes for a complete game from Halladay tomorrow. Walks him. Peralta at bat, back to Carlson throw to Hill to get one but Hill’s throw not in time for two. Choo with one on. Walks. Carlson not his usual sharp self here and that’s it. League pitching. Two on and two out for Garko walks on four pitches to load the bases. Francisco hit first pitch and run scores 7-7 game. Cabrera at bat, League cannot find strike zone six balls. Camp in bullpen. Lines one out to Bautista in left field.

Top 8th: This game started at 4.00 6.5 hours ago… Perez still pitching, Rolen at bat loops this one into shallow rf. Third hit tonight. Millar grounds to SS not in time for Rolen at second but Millar stumbles out of box but Garko drops the ball and both safe. For Bautista bunting and gets the job done. Both runners move up. McDonald pinch running for Millar. Intentional walk to Barrett loads the bases for Scutaro. Loops this into shallow rf and two runs score 9-7 Jays. Great running by Johnny Mc. Hill at bat lines out to lf. Two down two on for Rios. Has he come alive ??? another chance here Alex. Balk called on Perez and both runners move up. This game has had everything. YES Alex, finally woken up doubles this one down into LF corner, both runs score. 11-7 Jays and four for Alex tonight… finally. Doing what he should be doing.. That’s it for Perez, Wells at bat. Kobayashi pitching. Walks Vernon. Two on for Lind. Two hit night with HR and double and yet again Adam doubles into right centre, two more rbis for Lind. 13-7 Jays. Rolen again, he started this inning six runs ago. Walks him. Johnny Mc now at bat for Millar. Pops it up to Garko to finally end this inning.

Bottom of 8th: Camp pitching. Overbay at first. Sizemore lines it out to Bautista turns him around but catches it. DeRosa at bat dribbler back to Camp. Two down for Martinez strikes out. Nice pitching by Camp.

Top 9th: Bautista hitless tonight but walks here on four pitches, Barrett at bat, also hitless, gets hold of this one but long fly ball to LF. One down for Scutaro for his sixth at bat tonight. Lines it up the middle for his third hit. Hill grounds into double play to end this inning.
Bottom 9th: Hafner at bat, strikes out, Peralta at bat, walks. Choo at bat, double play ball.
Jays win this one big. 17 hits attack 13 runs. Game started at 4.00pm and ends at 11.20pm. No bp in the morning guys. AND you are still Eastern Division leaders 4-1 start. Cleveland falls to 0-4...
Great game tomorrow Lee v Halladay for bragging rights. Haladay will be out to prove Lee is number two.
