Friday March 21. Jays in Lakeland visiting Tigers.
Jays win 5-3
Jesse Litsch sends down 16 in a row and cements that fifth spot.
Although he gives up two home runs, this is not a bad outing for Jesse against a very strong Tigers side.
Litcsh six innings, three runs, three hits and six strikeouts.
The home runs were Sheffield and Rodriguez, nothing to be ashamed about Jesse.
Jays bullpen once again three scoreless innings, this time from Carlson.
Jays answer with 11 hits. Dontrelle Willis not at his best, gives up seven of the eleven hits.
The bad: Toronto leaves nine more on base.
Doubles from Shannon and Reed still fighting for that left field spot but Stairs has also shown both of them that he can fill in there just as well. I agree that Reed may the trade bait. He is definitely not the Reed he was two seasons ago and before his back surgery.
Barajas also a double and stolen bases from Luna, Johnny Mac (another for him) and Klosterman. What's with this running game this spring ? Seems like more stolen bases than all of last season.... Here is hoping that it continues into the season.
Rios caught stealing.
Big article in USA Today on Frank who thinks he is fine..... I think he must be referring to his off-season surgery definitely not his hitting.
