Another win

Toronto 6 Cleveland 1

Much better game today.
Batting practice very windy only one ball out of park, Coats of course.
Second team lineup, only three first teamers in Rios, Overbay and Barajas plus Marcum pitching.

The good: Marcum very sharp two innings. First inning three up three down.
Parrish third inning great pick off at first.
Coats again on base percentage two for two today on top of yesterdays two for two. This guy appears for real to make the squad.
Fielding all round excellent. Thigpen, Inglett, but also pitcher Parrish.

The game: By the end of first Jays were up by two. Rios single rbi, steals second, Barajas hit, Snider infield single beats it out. Bases loaded for Coats. Coats walks. Carmona didn't give Coats anything to hit. Jays 2-0.

Defence much better, Inglett yesterday's goat, turns double play ! Marcum strikes out three very efficient.
Bottom of second, Sutaro (SS) base hit number two in game, Rios double over third base 2nd and 3rd for Overbay, walks bases loaded, Barajas grounds out.
Fourth, Ingllet great diving catch, not a goat today by any means.
Dellucia HR makes it 2-1
Tallet pitching very well.... 5th strikes out three.

Bottom of 5th Snider walks, Lind triples of wall. Snider scores 3-1.
Fielders choice to score Lind 4-1

6th Accardo pitching, three up and down, great inning
Johnny Mac gets great reaction from crowd when announced.

7th League very erratic pitching, throwing too hard and wild BUT redeems himself with great play and two beauties by Thigpen at first, inning over.

8th Brian Wolfe pitching, Thigpen two great stops/outs
Bottom of 8th. Brain Patterson double off right centre wall
Johnny Mac reaches on error, Patterson to 3rd
Wayne Lyon (CF) doubles off left field wall. Patterson scores, Johnny Mac to 3rd 5-1
Thigpen flyball scores Johnny Mac 6-1

Davidson wraps up 9th.

10 hits for Jays.

Nothing ugly today, not much bad either, good game well pitched, great hitting by minors and the fielding was mid-season standard.
Good to see bull-pen regulars out there.
Gibbons has some interesting choices. Outfield Coats and Lind playing very well along with Matt Stairs yesterday. Rios looks good. Now Vernon and Reed have to start playing.
Infield Scutaro very good today, Inglett totally different from yesterday's fielding and I am beginning to see why they are high on him.
Catching. None of them are shining. Zaun's throw yesterday to prevent steal has been the highlight for catchers to date. Barajs did little today.

Tomorrow the Yankees but thunderstorms forecast for late afternoon, Game sold out.
