Toronto 4 Detroit 3

Very entertaining and well played game, the best for the Jays this Spring. Weather could have been a factor with wind again but did not interfere. The home runs were all moon shots.

Lineups. Detroit: Granderson, Polanco, Jones, Carbrera,Thames, Hessman, Skelton, St. Pierre, Santiago, and pitching Bonderman.
Toronto: Eckstein, Rios, Wells, Rolen, Stairs, Overbay, Stewart, Hill, Fasano and Marcum pitching.

The very good: Pitching today by Jays. Marcum three good innings, Parris exceptional three innings 7 strikeouts of a very good batting team.
Frasor, Chacin and Romero complete the game.

Good: Rolen home run and Stewart two base hits.

Bad: Defence and the big guys hitless... Wells, Rios, Overbay. and base running two caught stealing.

The game: Top of the 1st. Three up three down.. Marcum pitching very well.
Botom of 1st 3 up 3 down, Bonedrman equally impressive.

2nd Marcum two quick outs but then Hessman moonshot home run to left into the trees.
Tigers 1-0.
Bottom of second Rolen leadoff home run... into left field same area as Hessman's 1-1.
Stairs hit batsman, Overbay base hit two on no outs, Stewart moves them both over with dribbler down first base line, Hill triple... Stairs and Overbay score 3-1 Jays. Fasano hit batsman, Bonderman's second hbp in the inning. Eckstein grounds into double play.
Top of third Marcum in trouble. Walk, base hit, hbp, bases loaded. One out and Rolen misses hopper, Tigers score error to Rolen. 3-2 Jays.
Bottom of third. 3 up 3 down, Rios, Wells and Rolen... Bonderman ptching better.
Top of 4th Parrish pitching. Very well.. great inning 3 up 3 down. throwing strikes.
Bottom of 4th Stairs grounds out , Overbay flies out, Stewart double of wall, Hill strikes out leaving Stewart at second.
Top of 5th. Parrish another great inning strikes out the side but Polanco hits home run 3-3.
Bottom of 5th. Eckstein hit, leaves game, Wells walks on 4 pitches, Rolen strike out to end inning.
Top of 6th Parrish out for third inning. Two more strikeouts to end with 7 for 3 innings relief..
Bottom of 6th. Barajas ph for Stairs pops up to SS. Overbay pops to 3B, Stewart another double to centre, his second of game. Hill ab. Scutaro caught stealing third, broke too late for ball in dirt.
Top of 7th. Jason Frasor pitching. 3 up 3 down, very good inning.
Bottom of 7th. Hill continues bat from 6th. bloop single to centre, Inglett pinch runer, caught stealing. Scutaro walks. Reed Johnson pops up.
Top of 8th. Chacin pitching...double of wall maybe catchable by Vernon but Coats in. Two on but Chacin strikes out Thames.
Bottom of 8th. Coats base hit single but error on to 2nd. Luna a double Coats beats very good throw, perfect slide. Jays 4 Tigers 3. Barajas moves Luna to 3rd. Thigpen gorunds to SS. Matt Watson ground to 2nd
Top of 9th Romero puitching. Hessman base hit to left, next batter double play ball. Bse hit bobled by SS. next batter flies out to left. Jays win.
