Report card

Yesterday's game was in Kissimee with the Astros, Jays sent a split squad.

Astros 4-Jays 3

A brief summary. Halladay pitching gave up three of the runs but was not unhappy. He used the innings to get used to Barajas, pitching to him for first time. Said some things worked others didn't. The bullpen once again gave a good account. They have been one of highlights in first ten days and augurs well for season in event of any injuries.
Berkman did the damage to Jays HR, triple and double. Would be nice to see a Jay that hot.
However four doubles from Jays including Rios.

A blogmeister report card on the Jays to date based on first ten days....

A+ definitely John Parrish. His three innings with seven strikeouts has been pitching highlight to date. Scott Rolen bat and glove.

A. Adam Lind, Eckstein, Buck Coats, Hill, Jesse Litsch although his last outing on Sunday was a gem with six strikeouts, Matt Stairs, Marcum, Halladay and the bullpen Thorpe, Accardo, League, de Jong.

A- Alex Rios, Joe Inglett, Scutaro, Shannon Stewart, overall base stealing for offence, catchers and throwing out runners.

B + Wells, Thigpen especially his glove,

B. Thomas, Zaun, Barajas, Reed Johnson, Burnett, overall fielding and runners in scoring position.

C. the rest........

If they headed north today I would include Lind, Coats, Stewart, Parrish and Thorpe in the 40.

Will be interesting to do another mid-term report next week.......
