Hill comes through yet again as Jays tie one with Astros

Jays v Astros Friday April 2.

Penultimate game for the Jays before regular season starts on Monday.
Ricky Romero pitching. Jays tie this one 3-3 even after the extra inning.
Aaron Hill once again coming through with home run number five of the spring and his third this week. And this time bringing in Bautista once again with lead off. If these two can continue this type of form in the season it will be fun for Jays fans. Both Jose and Aaron with averages over .400.

Romero goes five innings giving up just the one run but three walks which would bother him. Relievers tonight Valdez, Camp, Downs and Frasor giving up only one earned run to Downs although Frasor could not prevent the run when he relieved Downs in the eighth.
Valdez has been showcased this week several times, throws very hard. Will be interesting to follow him this season in the minors.

Another great throw by Bautista to get Johnson at second, the scouts will be getting the word around don’t try to stretch it out with that guy in right field. Vernon had three hits and a run thanks to Overbay RBI.
Encarnacion 0-3 and average down to .080. Needs to get going soon, time running out.

Gonzalez nothing yet again, but hit by pitch and walks. I think if he is batting ninth his value will be on base percentage for Bautista and Hill to follow but so far this guy has not impressed anyone with his bat. And he has a career obp of .294. Jays management thinks this guy can hit for power but that was with the Marlins in 2003 and 2004. Perhaps we will see Johnny Mac. sooner than later, the fans certainly hope so.

Bottom line the top five in Jays lineup had hits tonight and that is good. One more tomorrow against the Astros then head off to the Rangers for Opening Day
