Boston 35-Jays 6. Says it all as Red Sox humiliate Jays at home this weekend

Red Sox v Jays. Game three of series.

Boston going for the sweep and it should not be difficult, Jays are in big swoon to the bottom and have much rebuilding to do before they are able to play with big guys.
Today Drabek will be no match for Lester and the only hope he can have is that the hitters can score a ton more runs than Boston and right now that is extremely unlikely.

Line-ups: Boston: Ellsbury, Pedroia, Gonzalez, Youkilis, Ortiz, Crawford, Saltalamacchia, Drew, Scutaro and Lester pitching.
Jays: Escobar, Patterson, Bautista, Lind, Arencibia, Encarnacion, Hill, Davis, Nix and Drabek pitching.

Top first. Ellsbury leading off pops up to Nix at third, one down for Pedroia. Ground ball to Nix throw to Lind at first. Gonzalez, here we go, home run to right and Boston continues right on from yesterday. 1-0 Boston. Youkilis, full count, ball four. One on two down for Ortiz, strikes out. But Boston off and running early.
Bottom first: Escobar leading off, grounds to Pedroia throw to Gonzalez at first, one down. Patterson pops up to Scutaro at short, two quick outs. Bautista grounds to Gonzalez, takes it himself for the third out.

Top second: Crawford leading off, strikes out. One down for Saltalamacchia, strikes out, two down. Drew lines to Davis in centre for third out. Good inning from Drabek.
Bottom second: Lind leading off grounds to Pedroia throw to first base Gonzalez. One down for Arencibia, strikes out. Encarnacion pops up to Youkilis at third.

Top third: Scutaro leading off, full count and ball four. One on for Ellsbury, 3-0, here we go again with Drabek and his control, ball four, two consecutive walks, you just cannot do that against this team, Scutaro to second. Drabek in trouble here. Pedroia strikes out. One down for Gonzalez, wild pitch by Drabek, Scutaro to third, Ellsbury to second and there goes double play chance. Far too many wild pitches by the Jays this season so far. Gonzalez grounds to Hill, throw to Lind to get Gonzalez, runner Scutaro scores, 2-0 Boston. Ellsbury to third. Two down for Youkilis, singles to left, here comes Ellsbury, 3-0 Boston. Drabek a mess yet again. Ortiz, grounds back to Drabek throw to Lind for third out.
Bottom third: Once again Jays hitters need to get going here before it is out of reach. Hill leading off grounds to Scutaro throw to Gonzalez at first, one down. Davis grounds to Pedroia throw to Gonzalez at first. Nix strikes out. Three up and down.

Top fourth: Crawford leading off lines to Nix at third. Saltalamacchia singles to right.
Drew strikes out. Two down for Scutaro grounds to Nix throw to first base Lind. Not quite three yup and down but for Jays pitchers the next best thing right now.
Bottom fourth: Escobar leading off, strikes out. Patterson fly ball to Ellsbury in centre. Two down for Bautista, there she goes, finally, over centre field fence, home run number 21 for Jose and his first for far too long. One bright star today at least. 3-1 Boston. Lind fly ball to Ellsbury.

Top fifth: Can Drabek hold them here and limit the damage. Ellsbury leading off singles to centre. Just unable to nail it down. Pedroia, oh boy, over the fence in left, two run home run 5-1 Boston. All about momentum and Drabek has just ruined that very short lived hope for the Jays fans. Gonzalez, doubles to left. Drabek still to get one out. Youkilis, yet another passed ball and Gonzalez moves up to third. 3-0 count, ball four, can you believe it. Two on nobody out for Ortiz. Drabek playing with fire big-time. There she goes, deep into right three run home run. 8-1 Boston. Nobody out and Farrell has seen enough, let alone the fans. It was 3-1 a few minutes ago and with the Bautista home run signs of life by Jays hitters. Drabek has destroyed this. Perez back out there, he has been overworked this weekend but Farrell has limited choices (today at least) Perhaps with some bus tickets to Vegas the players will change. Crawford, singles to Davis in centre, one on nobody out. Saltalamacchia, he singles to Davis. Five hits and a walk this inning with nobody out. Crawford goes to third on that play. Drew, that`s better finally an out as he strikes out. One down for Scutaro, singles to centre, here comes Crawford 9-1 Boston. Saltalamacchia at second. Two on for Ellsbury, finally a break, grounds to Hill, over to Lind, double play ball. But another huge inning and no way are Boston giving this up.
Bottom fifth: Arencibia leading off strikes out. One down. Encarnacion singles to centre.
Hill fly ball to Drew in right. Two down. Davis, strikes out. Miserable.

Top sixth: Pedroia leading off, ball four, one on for Gonzalez, strikes out. Youkilis, wild pitch, Pedroia to second. Youkilis doubles to Davis in centre, here comes Pedroia. 10-1 Boston. Ortiz doubles to centre, here comes Youkilis. 11-1 Boston. That’s it for Perez. Camp now pitching. Crawford grounds to Escobar throw to Lind, two down, Ortiz to third. Saltalamacchia doubles to right, Ortiz scores. Drew, two down and runner in scoring position, strikes out.
Bottom sixth: Sutton in at left field. Nix fly ball to Ellsbury. When did Nix last have a hit? any hit. Escobar strikes out. Patterson strikes out. Jays go pathetically meekly.

Top seventh: Scutaro leading off doubles to centre and the beat goes on. Ellsbury pops up to Nix at third base. Pedroia, full count, ball four. Two on one down for Cameron pinch-hitting for Gonzalez. Jays get a break from Gonzalez. Cameron strikes out. Two down for Youkilis fly ball to Patterson in left stranding two.
Bottom seventh. Cameron in at left field. Sutton in at first base. Bautista leading off, fly ball to Ellsbury in centre. One down for Rivera pinch-hitting for Lind, grounds to Pedroia at second throw to Sutton. Arencibia grounds to Scutaro throw to Sutton to end this one.

Top eighth: McCoy in for Jose in right field. Rivera in for Lind at first base. Am still unsure why Rivera has not been playing all weekend. Francisco now pitching, off-day for Jays tomorrow. Ortiz leading off grounds to Nix at third, throw to Rivera. One down.
Sutton doubles to right. Here we go again. Saltalamacchia, one on one down, full count, and ball four from Francisco. Drew, with two down, strikes out. Scutaro, with two on and two down, does not have the heart to embarrass his old teammates any further, strikes out. Thanks Marco.
Bottom eighth: Encarnacion leading off, full count, ball four. Not sure that walks are what Jays need from a DH however he is on base, we cannot be picky. Hill grounds to Youkilis throw to Sutton at first, to get Hill, his days are surely numbered for this organization. Question is when do the Jays organization make the cut? Encarnacion to second. Davis with runner in scoring position, strikes out. Two down, Nix pops up to Sutton at first, another who may have limited time remaining with the organization.

Top ninth: Rauch now pitching. Ellsbury leading off singles to right. Pedroia grounds to Escobar throw to Rivera to get Pedroia. Ellsbury to second. Cameron, one down one on fly ball to McCoy in right. Two down for Youkilis, gets hold of this one over the fence in left, here comes Ellsbury and score is another 14. Ortiz fly ball to Patterson in left for third out.
Bottom ninth: Bowden now pitching. Francona must think he has the game in hand with a 14-1 lead. Escobar leading off, fly ball to Drew in right. Patterson grounds to Sutton takes it himself at first. McCoy pops up to Pedroia. This game is mercifully over and this team can get back to practice and how.

This was probably, no undoubtedly, THE most embarrassing weekend in many years if not in the club history. I fear for the attendance on Tuesday as Jays battle for the last spot in the division. If they play like minor leaguers then they should expect minor league attendances.

The only redeeming feature for me today was the home run for Jose to break his mini-slump. At least one person brought his bat today. But Drabek soon snuffed out that momentum in the next inning and Jays never had a chance after that.

The pitching ??? (or rather lack of) Well we are seeing the results of a rotation of rookies. The club has to decide do they learn in Vegas or the hard way here in the majors. I am not sure the benefits of ruining the confidence of Drabek, Morrow. Three more wild pitches today two for Drabek who is clearly not ready. Jays pitchers threw 201 pitches. Compared to 111 by Boston. Roughly 100 more pitches, that is almost another complete game. Drabek count 91 pitches but 46 balls 45 strikes and only four innings. That tells you his story. Drabek has to be sent down if only for his own good let alone the fans and his teammates. Right now Villanueva, Romero and Reyes are the only three who should be in this rotation right now and Villanueva should not even be there.

Boston score 35 runs this weekend and Jays get 6. That says it all.
