Hallady unhittable as Jays win another with power from Barajas and Stairs

Series opener Jays v Yankees. Friday July 11,2008.

Yankees: Gardner, Jeter, Abreu, Rodriguez, Giambi, Posada, Cano, Betemit, Cabrera and Chamberlain pitching.

The result: Jays blank Yankees 5-0.

The very good: Halladay all by himself tonight. Complete game shutout. Eleventh career shutout, number seven complete game this season and two hit Yankees. Outstanding 113 pitches with eight strikeouts.
The good: Lind 2-3 Overbay 3-4 continue on from last night and also Lind’s hot streak since he came back to the first team. Halladay supported by big hits from Barajas and Stairs and incredible defence, Inglett, Scutaro and Super Mac.
The bad: Not tonight.

The game: Top 1st: Gardner hit by a pitch. Jeter at bat, Gardner stealing successfully, ground out by Jeter to Rolen, throw to Overbay, one down, Gardner holds at 2B. Rodriguez at bat strikes out. 20 pitch inning.
Bottom 1st: Inglett leading off tonight, strikes out. Eckstein fouls out to Betemit at 1B. Overbay singles to CF. Passed ball gets away from Posada, Overbay moves to 2B, Stairs at bat 3-0 count, fly ball out to CF Cabrera. 17 pitches for Chamberlain.
